Lois Marie Pope Hayes, 85, of Collins and widow of Talmadge Hayes, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia surrounded by her family.
Born in Florida she was a daughter of Alexander and Bernice Pope. Mrs. Hayes lived in Florida and moved to Collins in 1975. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and worked as an inspector for the sewing factory in Collins for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Hayes loved spending time with her family and enjoyed Fishing, yardwork, sewing and cooking. In addition to her parents, husband, and siblings, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lynn Hayes.
Surviving are a son Wayne Hayes; two grandchildren, Gary T. Hayes (Stacie), Christopher W. Hayes (Krystal); her great-grandchildren, Alex Hayes, Zachary Hayes, Hunter Hayes, Bailey Jenkins, and Maddox Reddish; her brother, Cleo Pope (Libby); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown.
Interment will be in Sunlight Cemetery
