Lewis Porter

Lewis Porter, 66, passed away Monday November 4, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He graduated from Metter High School in 1976 and attended East Ga College before entering into the Air Force. During his 8 years of service, he was stationed in Biloxi MS, Warner Robins GA, Berlin, Germany, Coco Beach Fl. After leaving the Airforce in 1986, he went on to work at Brooks Instruments (Brodie Meter). He was there for 30 years. Lewis enjoyed NASCAR, being outdoors, exploring and gardening but especially fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Porter; his brothers, Clinton Porter, Donald Porter, George Porter and Robert Porter; a sister, Georgia Leigh.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Porter; a son, Jeremy Porter; daughters, Tiffany (Troy) Tucker, Hollie (Brad) Edenfield; grandchildren, Anniston Porter, Ayle Jae Porter and Kate Edenfield; a sister, Angela Giles and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at Metter United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be conducted November 7, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Metter United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Cason officiating.

Burial will be at Lake Cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, are in charge of the arrangements.
