Leonard "Bud" Mills

Leonard “Bud” Mills, 79, of Metter and formerly of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Augusta University Medical Center.

Leonard was born in Palatka, Florida and lived in Pulaski and Metter for many years before moving to Garfield within the last year. He was a son of Jesse Mills and Lillie Mae Newman Mills.  Leonard was a retired truck driver and worked for Carl Britt and Tillman and Deal as well as several other companies over the years.  Leonard loved to be outside and work in his shop.  He was a “Jack of All Trades” and loved welding and building grills as well as grilling out.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Mills and a daughter, Debbie Mills.

Surviving are his son, Mark Mills (Deidre) of Columbus, Georgia; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Mills of Garfield; his grandchildren, Jesse Mills, Ashley Mills Williams, Schenise Mills Wilkerson, and Mikayla Mills; his sisters, Joyce Nash (Billy) of Morristown Tennessee and Voncile Cummings of Pembroke, North Carolina; and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock until the time of the funeral at the funeral home on Saturday.

Interment will be held privately in Lake Cemetery.
