Leona E. Chocker, of Metter and wife of Don Chocker, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 18, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Chocker was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1940. She graduated Kuma Sum Laude from Immaculata University having earned her Master of Social Work Degree. She had a love for horses and trained horses through the years. Mrs. Chocker was one of few women to receive a license for being a boxing trainer and trained and managed many boxers in the Philadelphia are. She was a retired Medical Hospice Social Worker and worked for Ogeechee Area Hospice for a number of years.
Surviving are her husband, Don Chocker of Metter; her son, Michael McLean of Metter; and several other family members.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
