Lavonne June Crooms

Lavonne June Milton Crooms, 74, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Candler County Hospital. Born in Bulloch County, she had lived most of her life in Candler County. She was employed at Twin City Manufacturing Company and later worked as a clerk at Flynt's Convenience Store and Cedar Center before retiring. As a very active member of the Cedar Street Baptist Church, June sang in the choir, was a member of the Golden Agers, the flower committee and the hostess committee. The children of the church will miss her purse full of candy that she enjoyed sharing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Crooms; parents, William Grady and Manie L. Milton and a brother, Robert E. Milton.

Survivors are a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Brenda Milton of Stateboro; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Hubert and Louise Crooms and Catherine Meeks all of Metter; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Casey Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ashley Milton, Allen Milton, Charles Charles, Randy Crooms, Buddy Meeks and Dean Crooms.
