Larry Kennedy

Larry Kennedy, 67, son of Barney and Lillie Green Kennedy, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Larry was born in Collins, Georgia and lived in the area for most his life and moved to Toombs County several years ago.  He was a member of North Thompson Baptist Church and was a former guard for the Georgia State Prison System.  Larry loved his family and loved to fish.  In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Kennedy, his brother Wilbur Kennedy and his sister, Judy Hooks.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Louis Cowart, Jr. of Cobbtown; one son, Richard Kennedy of Collins; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Joan Kennedy of Cobbtown and Eddie and Linda Kennedy of Collins; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Raymond Brown of Collins; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 until 11 o’clock Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with the funeral being held at 11 o’clock in the chapel.

Interment will be in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Brown, Sean Collins, Cody Williamson, John Kennedy, Wyatt Kennedy, and Brian Kennedy.
