Kenneth G. Lanier

Kenneth G. Lanier, of Collins, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023.

He was born in Metter on April 5, 1946, and was the son of Joshie G. and Eunice Lanier.  He lived in Collins and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.  He retired from Durden Chevrolet in Vidalia, Ga having worked as a manager in the parts department for over thirty years. In 1979, he met the love of his life Carol Barwick, and they were married until his passing. His hobbies included spending time with his family and friends. He loved to talk to anyone with a listening ear. He had a heart for stray dogs. His home became the local drop off for unwanted pets and he always made sure they were fed and would sit on the porch with them in his free time. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Carol B. Lanier of Collins; two sons, Darrell Lanier of Tenille and Dale Lanier of Sandersville; a sister, Annette L. Jeffries of Woodstock; grandchildren, Morgan, Christian, Jamie, Amber, Gabriel, Kristian and Destiny; and a niece, Deborah J. Jacobs.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Collins, Ga.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Interment will be in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
