Katherine "Kitty" Shaw Harper, 79, of Pulaski, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Born in Miami, Florida, the daughter of Everett and Nell Coger Shaw, she has lived in Candler County for the past 47 years. Inspired by a woman in Savannah, Kitty would raise money and purchase dictionaries to distribute to children who were in need. She was a member of the Metter United Methodist Church. Coming from a family of caterers, Kitty had a love of cooking but her greatest pleasure was taking care of her granddaughter, Katie. She was preceded in death by her son, Everett Earl Harper.

Survivors are her husband, Ivey Earl Harper; a son, Edgar Onnie Harper; and a granddaughter, Katie Harper all of Pulaski; and an adopted grandson, Douglas Mincey, of Gainesville.
