Karl R. Militzer

Karl R. Militzer, 71, of Metter and husband of Celeste Schoebert Militzer, died Friday, January 12, 2018 at Augusta University Medical Center.
Born in Columbia, Missouri, he was a son of Karl Militzer and Mona Gorg Militzer. He was a member of Osteen United Methodist Church while he lived in Florida and was a veteran having served in the United States Navy as a Sonar Technician on submarines. Mr. Militzer lived in Metter for the past six years and enjoyed fishing, reading and the quiet and simple life. He was co-owner along with his wife of Celestial Star Corgis Kennel of Metter where the raised and bred Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Surviving are his wife, Celeste Schoebert Militzer of Metter; his stepson, Frank Ammelonnx of DeBary, Florida; Step daughter, Jennifer Eakin (Bryan) of Nevils; four grandchildren, Joey Eakin and Ashley Eakin of Nevils and Taylor Ammelonnx and Frankie Ammelonnx of DeBary, Florida; and a sister, Michelle Redding of Hallsville, Missouri.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
