June Collins Strange, 82, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Cedar Plantation in Metter. Born in Cobbtown, the daughter of Laun and Winnie Hamm Collins, she had lived most of her life in Candler County near Metter. She was a 1947 graduate of Collins High School and attended Georgia Teachers College. After many years of assisting her husband on their farm, she later retired as a secretary at Farm Credit where she enjoyed helping all the farmers. Upon retirement there, June worked at Kennedy Monument Company and Kennedy Funeral Homes. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved taking care of her family. She joined the Cobbtown Methodist Church as a child and had attended the Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church for many years. June was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Strange, Sr.; two infant daughters, and a granddaughter, Anna Kay Lovett.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jake Lovett; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Herman Strange, Jr. and Randy and Melanie Strange all of Metter ; five grandchildren, Jeff Strange, Alicia S. Douglas, Matt Strange, Amanda L. Vernon and Randon Strange; four great grandchildren, GraceAnna and Caelan Vernon, Presley and Jackson Douglas.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 11:00 AM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Elder Gary Johnson and Elder Steve Flowers officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Strange, Jason Douglas, Matt Strange, Dustin Vernon, Randon Strange and Patrick Hendrix.
