Judy Smith, 66, of Jacksonville and formerly of Cobbtown, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at Kindred Hospital North Florida in Green Cove Springs Florida after a short illness.
Born in Cobbtown, she moved to Atlanta with her family when she was only nine years old. She married Samuel W. Smith in 1972 and two years later they moved to Jacksonville, Florida. She worked as an Administrative Secretary at the University of Northern Florida. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ranford and Edna Ruth Smith Coleman.
Survivors are a husband, Samuel Walter Smith, Sr. of Jacksonville, FL; a son, Samuel W. Smith, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Joey Smith of Atlanta; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cindy Coleman of Winder and Linda and Joe Martin of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 pm at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm, prior to the service. Guestbook: www.kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com
