Juanita Cook Holland, 95, of the Hillview Community died peacefully at her home Friday, April 24, 2015. Born in Metter, she was the daughter of Preston Nicholas and Carrie Lanier Cook. A Metter High School graduate, she lived most of her life in the Hillview Community and was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church. After 43 years of nursing, she retired from the Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton. She enjoyed farm life and sharing it with her family.

Preceding her in death was her husband, David Levi Holland, Sr.; her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Kay Holland of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jimmy Hobbs of Hillview; four grandchildren, Lee (Melissa) Holland of Hollywood, FL, Warren (Amy) Holland of Hillview, Josh (Kara) Holland of Statesboro and Michael (Mika) Hobbs of Statesboro; step-mother, Mary Cook Little of Guyton; a brother, Nicky Cook of Garden City; two sisters, Ellen Rahn of Guyton and Jan Nyborg of Savannah; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Dr. John Geerdes officiating. Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5:30-7:30 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Lee Holland, Warren Holland, Josh Holland, Michael Hobbs, Robert Cook and Bobby Holland.
