Joyce Brown Sykora Brewer
August 23, 1929 — October 18, 2015
Joyce Brown Sykora Brewer, 86, died Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. She was a lifelong resident of Cobbtown and the daughter of Elmo and Florence Collins Brown. Joyce was owner and operator of Three Rivers Insurance Agency in Cobbtown. After retiring from insurance, she was the manager of the Cobbtown Mall. She was a wonderful mother and granny. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Donald I. Brewer and a son, Tony Sykora.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Sandra Sykora of Griffin and Sherri Sykora of Metter; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret Sikes and Mary and Hugh Williamson all of Cobbtown; a special friend, Lupe Corronado of Cobbtown; three grandchildren, Griffin Martin, Heston Mercer and Randi Sykora-McCurdy; three step-grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Harvey, Lewis Rich, Johnny Sikes, Julian Gomez, Al Patel and Dale Sikes. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6-8 pm, at the funeral home.
