Joseph Paul "Joe" Southwell

Joseph Paul “Joe” Southwell of Metter, passed away early Saturday morning, November 6, 2021 at Candler County Hospital in Metter.

Joe was born in Statesboro, Georgia on February 13, 1981 and lived in Bulloch County, Candler County and Moultrie Georgia throughout his life.  He graduated from Wiregrass Technical College with a degree in Horticulture and loved to cook. Joe was a member of Heritage Church in Moultrie Georgia where he lived before moving back to Aline.

Surviving are his wife, Tonda Southwell of Aline; his mother and step-father, Tina Brown Bird and Kerry Bird both of Aline; his father, Terry Deal of Millen; a daughter, Kari Southwell of Claxton; a son, Trevor Southwell of Claxton; and his sisters, Francesca Avalos and Carrie Ann Deal.

The funeral will be held 1 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The family will receive friends and family from 11 am until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday.

Interment will be in Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
