Joseph Martin "Joey" Bruner

Joseph Martin “Joey” Bruner, 60, of Metter, died Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center.

Born in Metter he was the son of the late Grover Hubert Bruner, Sr. and Vennie Ray Westberry Bruner.  Joey grew up and lived all of his life in Metter and attended Metter High School.  He worked for McCorkle Cricket Farm and later BI-LO Grocery Store in Metter.  He was known for having a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.  He loved football, baseball, fishing, hunting and his children.  In addition to his parents, Joey was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Lynn Hudson Bruner and a brother, Bennie Ray Westberry.

Surviving are his son, Joseph Michael Bruner of Cobbtown and his daughter, Heather Nicole Bruner of Cedar Crossing; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Vickie and Sam Guiliano of Tampa, Florida, Lynette Stewart of Aline, Tammie and Bill Peters of Metter and Donna Vance of Metter; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Grover Hubert “Bert” and Patty Bruner of Tampa, Florida, Randy and Melissa Bruner of Monticello and Daniel Vance of Swainsboro; and several nieces and Nephews.

Graveside service will be held 11 o’clock in the morning, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Excelsior Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jessica Lee officiating.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
