John Madison Jordan, Sr.

John Madison Jordan, Sr., 71, died early Monday morning at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Born in Portsmouth, VA., he was the son of Carl and Mina Jordan. Mr. Jordan lived in Swainsboro for a number of years and lived in Metter for the last several months. He attended New Life Baptist Church for a number of years and was a retired tool and die machinist. He enjoyed fishing and video games. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine McDaniel Jordan.

Surviving are his daughter, Kathryna “Tara” J. Doyle (Fred) of Loganville, GA.; his son John Jordan, Jr. (Kellie) of Metter; Grandchildren, Michelle Gregory, Kansas Nesmith, Mac Doyle, Jarred Jordan, Matthew Jordan, and Joshua Jordan; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at New Beginnings Church in Loganville, Georgia on Saturday at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers and food, memorial contributions may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, 200 Donehoo St., Statesboro, GA. 30458.
