Jimmy Elton Sapp

Dateline: Statesboro Jimmy E. Sapp Jimmy Elton Sapp, 78, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born in Evans County, the son of William Troy and Ruth DeLoach Sapp. His earlier years were lived in Claxton while working with Claxton Wholesale Grocery for 14 years. He moved to Statesboro in 1967 joining Allstate Insurance as an agent. After his retirement in 1993 after 25 years with Allstate, Jimmy built and sold many beautiful homes in the Statesboro area. He is a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents; his infant granddaughter, Sarabeth Sapp; brothers, Floyd and Erie Sapp; and a sister, Mildred S. Rogers. Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Marybeth Wildes Sapp of Statesboro; his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry E. and Patia Sapp of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Jennifer S. Griffin, Jared (Talia) Sapp and Adam Sapp all of Statesboro and Austin Johnson of South Bend, IN; three great granddaughters, Morgan and Claire Griffin and Violet Sapp all of Statesboro; a former daughter-in-law, RaDonna Sapp of Statesboro; two sisters, Margaret Paulin of Savannah and Jackie Murray of Richmond Hill; brother-in-law, Lawton Rogers of Claxton; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Sapp of Claxton and Sara Sapp of Lyons; his Wildes brothers and sisters, Farrell Wildes of Ringgold, Norma Wildes of Statesboro, Jay Wildes of Hillview; Vann Wildes of Hoschton; Martha Lacy of Texas; Faye Kennedy Smith and Kaye Wildes both of Metter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM, at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Brewton Cemetery at Claxton.
