Jesse Coleman Qualls, 91, of Metter, Georgia died Friday, January 18, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Arkansas native moved to Metter in 2006 from Jacksonville, FL. One of 10 children, he was the son of Henry A. and Ella Elizabeth Qualls and lived most of his life in Arkansas and Indiana. He was an Army veteran and retired as a truck driver with Brown Trucking Company in Indiana. Mr. Qualls was a member of the Metter First Baptist Church. Going fishing with his wife was his favorite past time. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alex, Robert, Roland and Billy Qualls; sisters, Frances Bryant and Rebecca Dunn. Survivors are his wife of 71 years, Mary Christine Qualls of Metter; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Tom Ritchie of Metter; three sisters, Grace Eades, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Mary Walker of Lakeview, Arkansas and Imogene Hudspeth of Lafe, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Stephen (Sandy) Ritchie of Metter and Jennifer (Ronn) Reidell of Jacksonville, FL; three great grandchildren, Hunter and Tanner Ritchie and Zack Reidell. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 PM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Bernard Cowles officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Steve Ritchie, Ronn Reidell, Hunter Ritchie, Tanner Ritchie, Laroy McCann and Kellan McCann.
