Jefferson "Jeffrey" Lanier III

Jefferson “Jeffrey” Lanier, III, of Metter, passed away on April 4, 2025. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 29, 1963, to the late Jefferson G. Lanier and Mary Goodwin Lanier and was later raised in Metter. He worked for Sta-Brite Signs for many years. Jeffrey was described as “the toughest old man you’d ever meet”, He was a hard worker and a great mechanic. He loved to work on old classic cars and trucks. Above all he adored his wife and his family.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Mike Lanier and Paul Lanier; and sisters, Marcia Sheppard and Sharon Nelson.

Those who will cherish Jeffrey’s memory include his wife, Melissa Lanier; son, Justin Vincent of Stockbridge; daughters, Kayla Marlow (Matt) of Stockbridge, and Samantha Walker of Metter; brothers, Chris Lanier of Metter and Ricky Lanier (Debra) of Stockbridge; sisters, Renee Fordham (David) of Metter, and Cindy Walker of Metter; as well as very many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Services are private.
