Janie Collins Lynn

Janie Collins Davis Lynn, 86, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at her home in Decatur. The Collins, Georgia native was the daughter of Orie and Alice Blalock Collins. She moved to Decatur 54 years ago and retired from the Met Life Insurance Company after 39 years of employment. Although, she was still a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Janie attended the Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church while living there. She was a member of the Heating Park Garden Club and was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold C. Davis.

Survivors are her husband, Curtis R. Lynn of Decatur; a brother and a sister, Larry E. Collins and Myrtle F. Hart both of Collins; two step-sons, Tommy Lynn of Florida and Dan (Debbie) Lynn of Sugar Hill; step-grandchildren, Amanda and Aaron Lynn; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 2:00 PM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with Elder Pat McCoy and Elder Jimmy Casen officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 4-6 PM, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Cowart, Keith Cowart, Billy Cowart, Jerry Collins, Gary Collins and Ronnie Williams.
