Janet Lynn Collins

Janet Lynn Collins, 60, of Lyons and wife of Javier Espinosa Mecchun, passed away early Monday morning, September 21, 2020 at her residence in Lyons.

Born in Fernandina Beach, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Edd Collins, Jr. and Ruby Wise DeBoyd and her father, Jimmy DeBoyd.  Janet was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and friend that will be missed by her family.  Janet enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, and eating at her favorite restaurants with her kids. She was preceded in death by her father, Edd Collins, Jr.; brother, Dave Collins; her sister, Joyce Moody.

Surviving are her husband, Javier Espinosa Mecchun of Lyons; son, Jody Collins, Sr, of Yulee Alex (Christa) Antunez of Lyons, Shane (Autumn) Espinosa of Uvalda, Gabriel (Carmen) Espinosa of Reidsville, and Miguel (Ariel) Espinosa of Lyons; daughters, Heather (Joseph) Wells of Ft. Bragg; mother, Ruby Wise DeBoyd of Yulee, Fl; sister, Diane (Kirby) Davis of Kings Mtn, NC; ten grandchildren, Jody Collins, Jr., Adam Wells, Dylan Wells, Joshua Wells, Cristiano Espinosa, Melody Espinosa, Lincoln Antunez, Landon McDonald, Mason Miller, and Jeremiah Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 4 until 8 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The funeral service will be held 2 o’clock, Friday, September 25, 2020 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Interment will be in Lyons City Cemetery.
