Jan Atkinson Tilton

Jan Tilton, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away June 9, 2023 at Southern Manor-at Candler in  Metter, Georgia surrounded by her family. Born in Austin, Texas, the daughter of the late Mattie
Jeanne and Benjamin Atkinson, she had lived most of her life in Marietta. Jan was a graduate of the University of Texas where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as an ICU nurse for several years until she became a loving mother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church where she served as prayer coordinator and led women’s bible study for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Tilton; her sons, Larry, Ben, Luke, and the late David Tilton; her daughters, Traci Clifton, Kristi Morris, and Jenni Tilton; her brother, Bob Atkinson; her sister,Jill Jones; and her 16 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2023 at 11:00 at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church with
Bryant Wright officiating.
