James Louis Morgan, of Metter died late Monday January 1, 2018.

Born in Lyons, he was a son of the late Louis and Lucille Harvey Morgan.  Mr. Morgan was a member at The Church of God at Cedar Crossing. He held every office in The Church of God having been a Pastor, Evangelist, Deacon, and Bishop.  He was an Insurance Salesman having worked for both National Standard and Independent Life Insurance Companies.  Mr. Morgan later owned and operated his own business, Woodworld and made furniture and crafts.  He was also a retired Truck Driver and had been on the road for over 17 years.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his son, Marty Ray Morgan, a brother, David Morgan, a sister, Thelma Morgan Mack, his second mother, Maudeena Mack Morgan, and a father in-law and mother in-law, Robert Amerson and Eva Sutton Amerson.

Surviving are his wife, Robbie Nell Amerson Morgan of Metter; a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne Morgan Sego and Richard Sego of Abbeville; four brothers and sisters in-law, John and Judy Morgan of Metter, Jimmy and Jeanne Morgan of Cobbtown,  Ronny and Sandy Morgan of Cobbtown, and Donny and Patricia Morgan of Cobbtown; four sisters and brothers in-law, Lois and Pete Asbridge of Arkansas, Joyce Driggers of Bellville, Martha and William Lenhart of Statesboro, Patsy and Donald Martin of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Christina McKinney (Ruel), Melissa McKinney (Philip), Ricky Sego (Marigrace) and Annastasia Sego; nine great-grandchildren,  Ruel Mckinney, III, Bella Mckinney, Clay Mckinney, Eion Mckinney, Arianna McKinney, Tallulah McKinney, Ezra McKinney, Rowan McKinney, and Ella McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 10a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.

Interment will follow in Sunlight Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to The Church of God at Cedar Crossing, 274 Cedarwood Subdivision, Uvalda, GA  30473.
