James Edward Kangeter

James Edward Kangeter, of Metter and husband of the late Margaret Virginia Kangeter, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024.

Mr. Kangeter was born in Candler County and lived in the Metter area all of his life.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He attended Pulaski Baptist Church in years past.  Mr. Kangeter retired from Southern States, formerly, Goldkist, in Metter where he worked as an assistant manager.  He also worked in HVAC and Electrical in the Metter area for many years.  From 2000 until 2016, Mr. Kangeter delivered the Metter Advertiser to patrons in our community.  He loved to fish and loved his Metter Advertiser newspaper.  In addition to his wife, Mr. Kangeter was preceded in death by a daughter,  Cindy Joy Kangeter.

Surviving are a son, Jimmy Kangeter (Mary Helen) of Garfield; a daughter, Tina Kangeter Austin (Jason) of Marietta; his grandchildren, Joshua Kangeter (Holley), Jessica Brown (Casey), Jody Kangeter, Breana Kangeter, Blake Kangeter, Olivia Austin, and Trey Austin; great-grandchildren, Lanie, AJ, Brogan, Bailey, and Colt;  his sister;  Nancy Kangeter Cook of Pulaski; several nieces and nephews; and his dachshund, Matt.

The graveside service will be held at 11 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in Lake Cemetery with Elder Mike Newman officiating.

Honorary Pallbeares will be Jimmy Wedincamp, Joshua Kangeter, Blake Kangeter, and Rusty Kangeter
