Howard “Wilden” Williams, age 92, passed away on March 13, 2025, at his home under the care of his family.
He was born in rural Candler County and lived there most of his life. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He later retired as Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services at Georgia Southern University. He designed the Auxiliary Services warehouse and once it was built, it greatly enhanced the efficient management and distribution of goods.
He was the widower of Annie Laura Culver Williams; they were married for 67 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy W. Carter of Ludowici, Georgia; a son, Howard W. (Tonya) Williams Jr. of Metter; two grandsons, Chris (Deona) Carter of Ludowici and Corey (Lauren) Williams of Savannah, Georgia; Great- Grandsons, Alex Carter, and Christopher (Emily) Carter of Ludowici, as well as great granddaughter Elizabeth Williams of Savannah; his brothers, Wayne Williams and his wife Pam and Ben A. Williams and his wife, Anna all of Metter; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Kennedy Funeral Home, Hooks Chapel of Metter.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
