Hazel Jones McCullough, 88, of Metter died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Candler County Hospital. A Kentucky native, the daughter of Harrison and Easter Hicks Jones, came to Tattnall County in the mid 1940's and raised her family here. Hazel retired from Metter Manufacturing Company and was a member of Faith Ministries Church. She was well known for her home made quilts.
Mrs. McCullough was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie McCullough; a son, J.D. McCullough and an infant son, Eddie Dean McCullough.
Survivors are her children and their spouses, Johnny and Margaret McCullough of Cobbtown, Glenn and Teresa McCullough of Macon, Linda and Edward Kennedy of Collins, Patricia and Larry Beasley of Metter; two sisters, Clara Wright of Willard, Ohio and Tressie Castle of Stockbridge, MI; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Johnnie Beasley officiating. Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery near Cobbtown. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
