Harry "Bootsie" Hamm, 74, died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation in Metter. Born in Tattnall County, he had lived in Aline and was a Metter High School graduate. He became a commercial fisherman in Florida. Bootsie moved to Metter four years ago from Collins where he had lived for several years. He attended Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Plumer Hamm and his step-father, Gordon Cowart.
Survivors are his mother, Mildred Holland Hamm Cowart of Metter; four cousins, Shirley Gable Williams of Lacanto, FL, Marion Oliver Stokes of Baldwin, FL, JoAnn Oliver Fouraker of Bryceville, FL and Billy Oliver of Jacksonville, FL; a faithful family friend, Sandra Smith Cartee.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Elder Lee Price officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. Guest book: www.kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com.
