Harold Lemuel Miles
September 30, 1921 — March 18, 2017
Harold Lemuel Miles, 95, passed away Saturday evening, March 18, 2017 at University Hospital in Augusta. Born in Candler County, he was the son of John Berry Miles, Jr., and Melrose Lane Miles. After returning home from serving in World War II with the U.S. Navy, Harold received a B.S in Agriculture from the University of Georgia. He then served as an Assistant County Agent in Screven County. After retiring from Western Electric, he returned to Candler County to farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Malcolm, Andrew and Billy Paulsen Miles and an infant sister.
He is survived by his brothers, James and Robert Miles both of Tifton, and Hubert Miles of Pulaski; sisters-in-law, Goolene Miles of Lyons, Joyce Miles of Flintstone and Carla Miles of Tifton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Metter, on the Portal Highway. Guestbook: www.kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com
