Harmon Edenfield

Harmon Edenfield of Metter and husband of the late Jessie Edenfield, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Born in Lyons, he was the son of Rufus and Minnie Hadden Edenfield.  Mr. Edenfield was a member of the Metter Church of God and had lived in Metter for more than fifty years before moving to Augusta over a year ago.  He worked for Lanier Meat Market and Thriftway Grocery Store before he and his wife Jessie opened Edenfield’s Restaurant over thirty years ago.  Mr. Edenfield loved hunting and fishing.  In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Jessie Edenfield.

Surviving are his two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon and Raul Arguello of Augusta and Holly Edenfield of Metter; a grandson, Nicholas Rountree; two brothers, Ronald Edenfield and Rufus Edenfield; three sisters, Josephine Hendrix, Renee Aldrich, and Rhonda Rutan; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2016 from 5 until 7 o’clock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The funeral will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:30 in the chapel of Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

Interment will be in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
