Francois E Vantonder

Francois E. VanTonder, 72, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, peacefully at his residence under hospice care.

He was born to Francois and Joanna VanTonder of South Africa and later moved to Candler County where he married Carolyn Collins. His passion was playing music, especially the drums, and he could fix anything that needed repairing. He retired from Electrical Equipment Upgrading of Savannah as an electrician of twenty years.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Collins VanTonder; brothers, Gary VanTonder and Renier VanTonder; sisters, Thea VanTonder and Ella.

Surviving are his son Johan VanTonder of South Africa; daughter, Marriette VanTonder Fouche of South Africa; step-son, Sean (Melinda) Collins of Collins, GA; three sisters, Daleen Coucamp, Susan Crots, and Bettie Cronje all of South Africa; and grandchildren, LleRoquel Justin VanTonder of South Africa, Fox Collins, Kiery Collins and Kirstie Collins all of Collins, GA.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Sunlight Cemetery in Cobbtown, GA.
