Eunice Sikes Hess

Eunice Sikes Hess, 92, of Cobbtown and widow of Charles “Herman” Hess, died Monday evening, September 5, 2022, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mrs. Hess was born in Cobbtown and lived there all of her life.  She was a daughter of Harvey and Evie Sikes of Cobbtown, and she was a member of the Cobbtown Baptist Church.  Mrs. Hess worked as a seamstress for several years before retiring at an early age. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hess was preceded in death by two brothers, Odis Sikes and James Sikes.

Surviving are her daughter, Tammy Miller of Cobbtown; her son, Eugene “Bud” Sikes of Cobbtown; a sister, Evon Morris of Lyons; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

Interment will follow in Sunlight Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
