Elizabeth Leona Holloway
October 17, 1954 – May 13, 2021
Elizabeth Leona Holloway (Nanny) was born at home October 17, 1954 and joined Jesus and her parents in Heaven on May 13, 2021 at the age of 66. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren after her struggle with Alzheimer’s. Her mother, Helen Elizabeth Gordon passed in 1991 and her father Leonard Wilson Holloway Sr. in 1996. She will be laid to rest in Metter, Georgia with her parents. Elizabeth lived a long, happy life. She is fondly remembered as caring for others as a CNA for over 30 years. Elizabeth cared deeply for her patients as if they were her own family. She loved traveling, country music, and cooking. Her passion was caring for others, but most of all she loved caring for her very large family. She is survived by her eight children, Billie (Jeanie) Vargas and her husband Juan, Joanie Reyes and her husband Carlos and Leonard Bailey all of Arkansas. Clarence Vance and his wife Lisa, Elizabeth Singletary and her husband William, Barbara Frias and her husband Tomas, John Black and Edward Black all of Georgia. She was a loving grandmother (Nanny) to 25 grandchildren, Victoria and her husband David, Alberto, Brianna, Marisol, Estrella, Elizabeth, Eduardo and his wife Lilly, Cesar, Gustavo, Elaina, Martin, Carlos Jr., Sammy, Josephina and Logan all of Arkansas. William, Bobby, Helen and her husband Nathan, Stephanie and her husband Todd, Tomas Jr., Agustin, Myra, Summer, John Jr. and Haley all of Georgia. Great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren, Mariluz, Katalina, Adaleia, Alex and Eduardo Jr. all of Arkansas. Jenna, Billy, Laura, Kelly, Adeline, Saraphina, Bentley, Barrett, Blake, and Cheyenne all of Georgia. She is also survived by her siblings Ida, Wilson, William, Mary Alice and Reenie all of Georgia. Although we feel she gained her beautiful wings too soon, we know she is resting peacefully and will watch over us all every day.
The graveside service will be held 11 o’clock in the morning, Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Lake Cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
