Elder Tommy McGee, 77, entered his heavenly home Wednesday, March 9, 2022, with his family and friends by his side. He was under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mr. McGee was born September 5, 1944, in Irwin County, Ocilla Georgia. He was previously employed with the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was currently serving as Pastor of Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church. Elder McGee previously served as Pastor of Gumlog, Baptist Rest, and Sunlight Primitive Baptist Church. He loved serving the Lord and visiting others and was known as a kind and compassionate man who loved the Lord with all his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Peggy McGee.
Surviving are his wife of forty-five years, Shirley; and his sons Brian (Marybeth) McGee and Steve (Tracy) McGee. Also surviving are his brothers David (Karen) McGee and Mike (Brenda) McGee, and his sister Sandra (Raymond) Faircloth. They have four grandchildren Amy Kirkus, Roger, Michael and Thomas McGee.
The funeral service will be Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Lee Chambers, Mike Newman and Emerson Proctor officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 1 until 3 o'clock in the afternoon at Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church, Deacons of Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church and attending Primitive Baptist Ministers.
