Elder Thomas Deal, 87, entered his heavenly home Thursday, January 6, 2022, with his family by his side. He passed away under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.
Thomas was born February 24, 1934, in Bulloch County. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. He was employed with Savannah Oxygen and Supply Company until he was called into the ministry and was ordained by the Savannah Primitive Baptist in 1976. He served as Pastor at Primitive Grove Baptist Church, Lake Primitive Baptist Church, Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church and Tifton Primitive Baptist Church. He loved serving and visiting others and was known as a kind and compassionate man who love the Lord with all his heart. Laughter was his favorite sound, whether it was making people laugh or laughing himself. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Hazel Deal, his wife of almost 64 years Annette Lee Deal; brother, Jack Deal and his grandson Chris Clifton.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Carl Rushing; great grandsons, Corbin and Cameron Clifton, their mother Colbey Clifton; sister, Faye (Donald) Donaldson; sister-in law, Alice Jane Deal; brother-in-law, Steve (Linda) Lee and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2022, from 10-11 in the morning at Middleground Primitive Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be Monday, January 10, 2022, at 11 o’clock at Middleground Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mike Newman and Buck Granthem officiating.
Interment will be in Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family ask that remembrances be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrier Project.
