Edward Joseph Waytaszik, Jr., 72, of Metter died Monday, November 16, 2015. Born in California, the son of Edward Joseph Waytaszik, Sr. and Ovada Corey Waytaszik, he lived his early years in Florida before moving to Candler County in 1965. He was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam. Edward was vice president and director of marketing and sales for Clyde's Market. In his retirement, he loved working with his tractor on the farm. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Survivors are his wife of almost 50 years, Joyce Blocker Waytaszik; a son, Edward Joseph "Joey" Waytaszik, Jr.; a daughter, Sarita Lynn Waytaszik all of Metter; and a grandson, Matthew David Owens of Twin City.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Larry Compton officiating. Burial will be in the Brewton Cemetery in Hagan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be observed at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Freddie Wallace, Billy Hodges, Charlton Rogers, Dean Crooms, Ronnie Sikes and Larry Sikes. Guest book: www.kennedyfuneralhomes.com.
