Eddie Allen Rigdon, Sr

Eddie Allen Rigdon, Sr., 70, died Tuesday, April 08, 2014 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. A lifelong resident of Candler County, he was the son of Vannie L. and Margaret Adaline “Maggie” Boulineau Rigdon. He was a graduate of Swainsboro Technical School and was in construction for many years. Eddie served in the U. S. Army and loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, V.L. and Lonnie Rigdon.

Survivors are his wife, Sue Hooks Rigdon of Metter; two sons, Eddie Allen (Donna) Rigdon, Jr. of Twin City and Christopher Daniel Rigdon of Glennville; two daughters, Linda (Deron) Conner and Angie (Todd) Roberts both of Metter; four step-children, Kristie Lively of Stillmore, Kevin Scarboro of Metter, Stephanie Shumpert of South Carolina and Misty Peters of Cordele; two brothers, Harold (Bobbie) Rigdon of Hinesville and Bobby (Lynette) Rigdon of Metter; a sister, Martha Ann Googe of Metter; seven grandchildren, Patrick Roberts, Jamie Roberts, Josh Conner, Heather C. Thigpen, Olivia Rigdon, Hunter and Autumn Roberts; five step-grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 am, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Casey Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Stillmore City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 pm, at the funeral home. Please sign guest book: www.kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com.
