Duane John Anderson

Duane John Anderson Sr., of Metter, passed away late Thursday evening, January 23, 2025 at his residence.

Born in Washington, DC, he was a son of John Richard Anderson and Irene Marie Anderson.  Mr. Anderson was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired Computer Engineer and later a Truck Driver.  He has lived in the area since 2005.

He loved his dog, Buddy, classic rock, fishing, and most of all, being with his family, whom he was most proud of.

Surviving are his children, Cynthia “Cyndi” Anderson Watkins, Sharon Lee Hayes, Angelique Anderson, Virginia Anderson, Duane Anderson Jr., John Anderson, Raymond Anderson; his sister, Susan Viering; 17 grandchildren, Rachael, Jimmy, William, Ashley, Rebecca, Emma, Remington, Kaley, Raymond, Derek, Lillian, Justin, Joshua, Jackson, Joseph, Johnny, and Ciera; and 7 great-grandchildren, Hailee, Ryland, Sophia, Ava, Oliver, Harley, and Adrian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Anderson; his wife of 36 years, Debra E Anderson; and his step-daughter, Jessica Bowman.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Living Waters Church of God in Metter.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Saturday at the Church.
