Dorothy Ann Creech Hadden

Dorothy Ann Creech Hadden, 89, of Metter, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at her residence under the care of hospice and her family.

Mrs. Hadden was born in Metter and lived in Metter all of her life.  She was a daughter of Richard Frank Creech and Annie Ruth Rigdon Creech.  She was a long-time member of Cedar Street Baptist Church

.  She loved gardening and especially loved taking care of her flowers on her front porch.  Mrs. Hadden received “yard of the month” several times over the years.  She was retired from Candler County Board of Education where she worked as a paraprofessional for over thirty years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hadden was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ellis Hadden, a son, Terry Ellis “Tab” Hadden, a grandson, Marcus “Cayne” Monroe and a granddaughter, Amy Williams.

Surviving are her daughters, Diane Hadden Monroe and Christy Hadden Schuman both of Metter and Pam Cowart (Bobby) of Reidsville; a son, Gary Lynn Hadden of Metter; two sisters, Jean Rhoades of Merriweather, Florida and Janice Daughtry (Jake) of Metter; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Cedar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Bo Fulginiti officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 o’clock until the funeral hour at the church on Saturday.

Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Hadden, Jason Hadden, Austin Purvis, Danny Kennedy, Chipper Wiley, and Shawn Kennedy.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
