Dorothy "Dot" Eleanor Findley Lanier

Dorothy Eleanor "Dot" Findley Lanier, 92, of Metter died Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Azalea Health and Rehab in Metter. A lifelong resident of Metter, Dorothy was a member of the Metter Primitive Baptist Church and the Marion Agan Circle. She was the retired owner and operator of Lanier Jewelers. Dot was an avid sports fan of all Georgia sports and in her early years, she enjoyed playing golf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lanier, and a sister Marguerite Eason.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Elliott and Lana Lanier of Cobbtown; a daughter and son-in-law, Delilah and Jesse Ray Collins of Metter; five grandchildren and their spouses, Laci and Alan Zielinski of Watkinsville, Logan and Heather Lanier of Cobbtown, Whitney and Patrick Kessler, Corey and Seleta Collins, Chad and Mandi Collins all of Metter; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 am, at Metter Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mike Newman officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be Sunday evening, 5:00-7:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Corey Collins, Chad Collins, Patrick Kessler, Logan Lanier, Alan Zielinski, and Sonny Morgan.
