Dorothy Amerson Boatright, 94, of Garden City, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Tara at Thunderbolt in Savannah.
Mrs. Boatright was born in Stillmore, Georgia on July 21, 1929, and was a daughter of Frank Amerson and Ruby Warren Amerson. She was raised in Stillmore and lived most of her life in the Garden City area near Savannah. Over the years, she worked for Union Camp, having worked in the bag department, and later worked at Sam’s Club and was a homemaker. Mrs. Boatright was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and crocheting as well as working a good word puzzle. She was a grandmother who dearly loved her grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Richard Boatright of Garden City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dinah Faye Grissom (Jim) of Dexter, Michigan and Margaret Boatright Gooding of Savannah; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 1 until 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.
The graveside service will follow on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2:30 in the afternoon at Simms Warren Cemetery in Stillmore.
