Doris Odum Sikes Rahn, 89, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Magnolia Manor on St. Simons Island. She was born in Brunswick, the daughter of Bernice Dewitt and Mattie Thornton Odum, and lived most of her life in Cobbtown. Doris returned to Brunswick in 2006 after living at Lake George and was a member of the Cobbtown Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Johnny Loren Sikes, the father of her children, and her current husband, Cecil L. Rahn who passed away just 12 hours before her; two brothers, Ernest and William Odum and a sister, Louise Odum McKay.
Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Sikes of St. Simons Island, Kris S. and Curtis Scott of McDonough and Kelley S. and Allen Strange of Cobbtown; six grandchildren, Dana Parker, Brooke Johnson, Dr. Justin Scott, Kristin Scott, Alaina Strange and Bailey Strange; and seven great grandchildren, Ava Grace, Isabel and Jackson Parker, Parker and Peyton Johnson, Dane and Nina Scott.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 2:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with burial in the Sunlight Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
