Donnie Lee Davis

Donnie Lee Davis, 63, of Pulaski died Thursday, September 3, 2015. Born in Douglas, Georgia, he was the son of Freeman and Fannie Pearl Thornton Davis. Donnie worked in janitorial supplies and was a member of the Gaines Chapel AME Church in Douglas. He was a lead singer in the gospel quartet, Christian Crusaders, and other groups. Cooking was his passion and he had a great love for his Mother and family. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Julia Taylor and two brothers, Richard Davis and Johnnie Davis and his grandmother, Julia Williamson. Survivors are a son, Jessie Davis of Boston, MA; two brothers, Earl (Larice) Davis of Riveria Beach, FL and Thomas Edwards of Douglas; a sister, Jacqueline James of Winterhaven, FL; his aunt, Dorothy Holloway; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, 4:00 pm, September, 5, 2015, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with burial at a later date in the Douglas Cemetery.
