Donna Lynn Thompson

Donna Lynn Thompson, 52, of Savannah and daughter of Denny and Sheryl Thompson, died late Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Landmark Hospital in Savannah.

Donna was born on April 3, 1967 in Savannah.  In 1984 at the age of 17 she was part of the very first class of the Academy of Joel and Company and graduated there in 1985.  She was presented her diploma by Max Cleland.  After graduation, Donna spent the next several years assisting Joel Moore and working with him at Joel and Company for over twenty years.  During her career she assisted with many events ranging from local pageants like the Miss Savannah Pageant as well as world championship events held in the United States and around the world.  Donna’s passion was makeup and fashion and it showed in her larger than life personality.  She was known for her positive and caring attitude for others no matter the obstacles or limitations she faced.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Horst and her sister Renee Butler.

Surviving are her parents Denny Thompson and Sheryl Farley Thompson of Metter; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and Dustin Durden of Metter; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Corbin and Erin Butler of Reddington Beach, Florida and Shane Horst; her fiancée, David Fernandez of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday May 26, 2019 from 2 until 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The funeral service will be held 3 o’clock in the afternoon Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

Interment will follow in Lake Cemetery.
