Christine Collins, 90, of Collins, died late Friday, September 9, 2016 at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation in Mettter.
Born in Collins, she was the daughter of Kate Powell and Mack Oliver. Mrs. Collins was a Baptist, having attended Pine Grove Baptist Church in years past. She was a retired seamstress and loved gardening and gospel music. In addition to her parents and siblings, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her son, James Marvin “Buddy” Meeks, her granddaughter Melissa Moxley, and a sister Jaunita Collins.
Surviving are four daughters and a son-in-law, Dale and George Green, Linda Meeks, Sheryl Meeks, and Ellen Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Martha Meeks; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday, September 13, 2016 at 2 o’clcock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1 o’clock until the funeral hour.
Burial will be in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
