Chad Padgett

Chad Padgett, 51, of Metter, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at his residence.

Born on March 16, 1973, Chad was the son of Robert and Diann Padgett and a lifelong resident of Candler County. He was a devoted member of New Life Baptist Church, where he proposed to his beloved wife, Mitzie McNeely. They were married on July 1, 2000.  Chad enjoyed riding dirt roads on his side by side.  He was a great cook and enjoyed grilling for his family and friends.  Chad was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and loved watching the Bulldogs play.  He dearly loved his family and his chihuahua, Taz.

Chad dedicated over two decades to his role as a supervisor at Sikes Brothers Paving Company, where his work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact on his colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Padgett, his brother, Shane Padgett, and his father-in-law, Ronald McNeely.

Chad is survived by his loving wife, Mitzie McNeely Padgett; his cherished children, Caitlyn Padgett, Madison Padgett, and CJ Padgett (Sarah); his mother, Diann Padgett; and his adored grandchildren, Alaya Padgett and Ava Collins. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Lisa Padgett, and Gina Hansford (Philip); his mother-in-law, Patricia McNeely; and his nieces and nephews, Austin, Lane, Audri, Nora, and Little Shane.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, in Metter.

A funeral service to honor Chad's life will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church. Interment will be private.
