Carolyn Canady Watson, 86, of Metter died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Candler County Hospital. She was born in Swainsboro, the daughter of Dessie L. and Lula Sconyers Canady, and lived most of her life in Metter. Carolyn retired from Excelsior Electric Membership Corporation after 40 years of employment. She was a member of the Metter United Methodist Church. For several years, Carolyn and her husband, Gus, enjoyed dancing every Saturday evening at Johnny Harris Restaurant in Savannah. She loved working crossword puzzles and doing for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters.
Survivors are her husband of almost 66 years, Gus H. Watson, Jr. of Metter and several loving Canady and Watson nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Elder Tommy Rountree and Rev. Whit Byram officiating. Burial will be in the Old Canoochee Cemetery in Emanuel County. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Edwin Canady, Lee Canady, Hugh Barrow, Gordon Lowe, Jimmy Taylor and L.C. Clark. Honorary pallbearers are James Jones, Joe Hulsey and Don Canady.
