Carl Sikes

Carl Sikes, 86, of Metter and husband of the late Ruby Grace Lariscey Sikes, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation in Metter.

Mr. Sikes was born in Cobbtown, he was a son of Quinlan Sikes and Jenny Rewis Sikes.  Mr. Sikes was a member of the Metter Free Will Baptist and was a Carpenter having worked for Piggly Wiggly Stores for many years.  During his time with Piggly Wiggly, Mr. Sikes was instrumental in the remodeling and refurbishment of the stores. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sikes was preceded in death by his son, Bubba Bragdon and sixteen siblings.

Surviving are his three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Mike Hardiman of Metter, Melanie and Tim Mosley of Aline, and Diane and Steve Falta; a brother, Goodboy Sikes; twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service for Mr. Sikes will be held Saturday, January 30th, 2021 at 2 pm. at Lake Cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery on Saturday, January 30th, 2021.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Aviles, Jerryd Aviles, Miguel Aviles, Alex Aviles, Jim Hardiman, and Tim Mosley.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
