Carl D Groover

Carl D. Groover, 63, of Stilson, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Born in Jesup, he was a son of Isaac and Elizabeth Welcher Groover.  Mr. Groover was a Jockey Driver with Floor and Décor Warehouse in Garden City and in earlier years was an on the road truck driver.  He grew up in the Church of God faith and loved fishing, grilling and being home when not at work.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Groover was preceded in death by his brothers, James Groover and Isaac Groover.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Groover of Stilson, two step-sons, Michael Turner of Stilson and Eric Turner of Colorado; Step-daughters, Kathy A. Turner of Statesboro and Sheri Holmes of Wisconsin; a sister, Debora Simmons of Hinesville; nine grandchildren; and eleven great- grandchildren.

A private service will be held later.
