Byron Wayne Allen, 41, of Mobile, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Byron was born in Albany, Georgia and lived in Augusta, Georgia and Highlands North Carolina before moving to Mobile, Alabama several years ago.  He was a graduate of Highlands High School in Highlands, North Carolina.  Byron was recognized as NC Scholar upon graduation. As a high school student, Byron excelled in sports and played for the basketball team.  This is a talent that was inherited by his son, Keller who currently plays Basketball for St. Paul’s Episcopal Basketball Team in Mobile, Alabama.   Byron received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Auburn University in 2004.  After graduation, Byron worked as a commercial lender for Regents Bank and recently was working in insurance sales customer service assisting people with difficult claims.  He was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama.  Byron was an avid golfer and tennis player and played both frequently in his free time.

Surviving are his son, Keller Allen of Mobile, Alabama; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Larry Guido of Metter; his brother and sister-in-law, DeLacey and Jera Allen of Tampa, Florida; his step-brothers and step sisters-in-law, Michael and Karen Guido of Chicago, Illinois and John and Denise Guido of San Louis Obispo, California; and his nieces and nephews, DeLacey, Avie, Matthew, Christopher, and Taylor.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 10 o’clock in the morning at Metter First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9 until 9:45 o’clock in the morning at Metter First Baptist Church.

Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
