Buford Duane Bishop

Buford Duane Bishop passed away on October 21, 2022, after a short battle with cancer.

Mr. Bishop was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on January 7, 1964, to B.G. Bishop and Maxine Morgan Bishop.  He lived in Metter for the past nineteen years.  Mr. Bishop retired from Briggs and Stratton this year after his health began declining.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Master Seargent Danny K. Bishop and a sister-in-law, Ann Ballew Bishop both of Beech Island, South Carolina.

Surviving include five children, John Duane Bishop of Alexandria, Virginia, Tabitha Bishop of Dawsonville, Georgia, Nicholas Bishop of Texas, Matt Bishop of Appling, and Zachary Bishop of Metter; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Williams, Savannah Cowart and Pierce Merier; he was excited to be welcoming a great grandchild in January of 2023; also surviving are his paternal aunt, Shelby Jackson of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his sisters, Dianne (Gregg) Tucker of Metter, Deborah (Jimmy) Lamb of Beech Island, South Carolina and Delilah Bishop of Jackson, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews as well as special friends including Jake Gibson and Emily Roper.

The memorial service will be held 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, October 29, 2022 in the Chapel at Guido Gardens.
